SEEKING DISOMFORT
26 JULY - 6 SEP
Vibe Studio presents Seeking Discomfort — a bold and introspective exhibition that challenges both artist and audience to confront the unfamiliar.
This body of work invites viewers into the raw and transformative process of growth, where vulnerability becomes a necessary tool and discomfort is embraced as a catalyst for self-discovery. Through shifting tones, layered textures, and emotional depth, Seeking Discomfort captures the tension between who we’ve been and who we’re becoming.
It is a celebration of evolution, a confrontation with fear, and a reminder that the most powerful breakthroughs often lie just beyond our comfort zones.

RODNEY ELLIS
I'm born and raised in Memphis, TN. I moved to Hattiesburg, MS for college and it took some time but I eventually fell in love with the city. I started doing photography as a means to show people south Mississippi through my lens. Everything was so green and beautiful to me.
Story telling came naturally as I grew as a man. I started having more to say and learned how I could do that through film making. Everything just happened naturally. I know I'll always have something to shoot because I'm constantly evolving.Since starting my journey, I've been featured in Vogue Magazine as one of the photos of the week. I've Had two solo exhibitions that featured two separate short films I shot and directed.
Produced two forms of physical art: Photo book and Vinyl record, and shown work in multiple galleries. I also partnered with Itowah Collective, and we put together an art show with a multiple course dinner curated by Enrika Williams from Jackson, MS.
